Jaime A. Davidson, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E.
Jaime A. Davidson is originally from San Jose, Costa Rica. He graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico with honors. He completed his internship and Internal Medicine Residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital (Texas A&M) and Endocrinology at Indiana University School of Medicine. Upon completion, he held the position of Chief of the Endocrinology Service at Methodist Hospital of Dallas. He also served as Chief of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. At the present time, he is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, Diabetes Touchstone Center, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Davidson is one of the original AACE charter members and continues to serve uninterrupted in various positions, most recently as an advisor to the Board.
Dr. Davidson served in higher education as a Regent of Midwestern State University. He chaired the Texas Diabetes Council, Texas Department of Health; chaired the CDC Minority Initiatives; and served in the Translation Committee. He was an FDA advisor in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases. He also served the National Diabetes Advisory Board and reported on the State of Diabetes at the Veterans Administration. For the Institute of Medicine, his involvement included the work on Priority Areas for National Action, Transforming Health Care Quality.
The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists honored Dr. Davidson with for his work in Underservedmedia, media center, press, press room Populations and the American College of Endocrinology with the Yank Coble, MD, Award. From the American Diabetes Association he received the Addison B. Scoville, MD, the Harold Rifkin, MD and the Josiah Kirby Lilly Award, and the Hagedorn Medal from the IDF-SACA Region. He is an honorary member of many International Endocrine Societies. Dr. Davidson is married to Ana Davidson (42 years) and has two sons Aaron and Maurice, both married, and 2 granddaughters, Sasha and Samantha.
